Honoring Families of Heroes

5-29-25 Journey 6-Memorial Day

FEEL GOOD

Honoring Our Heroes and Their Families

We hope you had a meaningful and peaceful Memorial Day weekend.

As my husband and I watched the PBS National Memorial Day Concert, we were deeply moved by the powerful, real-life stories of courage and sacrifice. Some of these heroes were honored in person—others were remembered for the ultimate sacrifice they made. As tears filled our eyes, I couldn’t help but think about the families behind each of these brave individuals.

What about the loved ones who stay behind? The spouses, the children, the parents—especially the moms who carry the weight of parenting while their partner is deployed. How many of these military families are also navigating the challenges of autism? Their sacrifices are multiplied in ways we often don’t see.

This Memorial Day (week), our hearts are full of gratitude not only for the men and women who serve, but also for the families who serve in their own way—quietly, steadfastly, and with so much love. We honor you. We see you. Thank you for your unwavering strength and dedication to both your family and your country.

With gratitude,
The Autism Passport Team

TRAVEL WELL

Traveling with Confidence: The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program 🌻

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program helps travelers with non-visible disabilities—like autism, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities—feel more supported and understood. By wearing a sunflower lanyard, badge, or wristband, individuals can subtly signal to staff that they may need extra patience, understanding, or help during their journey. This program is recognized in airports, on airlines, and in transportation hubs around the world, including many U.S. and international destinations. https://hdsunflower.com/us/insights/post/for-people-with-non-visible-disabilities

For families traveling with a child on the autism spectrum, this simple symbol can be a powerful tool for more peaceful, supported adventures. You don’t need to show proof of a disability—just knowing it may help ease travel stress is enough.🌻✈️

Sunflower lanyards may be free through participating airports on this link. https://hdsunflower.com/us/insights/post/airports-around-the-world

You can order directly from the official Hidden Disabilities website which is in England and shipping fees may apply or may get free shipping through this Amazon link below.
