Preparing For Surgery? Don’t Ignore Recovery
Most people spend weeks preparing for surgery itself — but very little time preparing for recovery afterward.
The healing process places major nutritional demands on the body, increasing the need for nutrients involved in tissue repair, immune support, collagen formation, and recovery.
HealFast was physician-formulated specifically for pre- and post-surgery nutritional support with targeted vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, and recovery-focused nutrients designed for the healing process.
If you have an upcoming procedure or are currently recovering, recovery nutrition may be one of the most overlooked parts of the process.
DREAM
🤍When Letting Go Is Still Love
As we wrap up the month of May, I’ve been thinking about all the things that are coming to a close: spring, the school year, graduations, Mother’s Day, Mental Health Awareness Month, and so many little seasons we don’t always notice until they are almost gone.
For me, this month has felt especially personal.
I don’t have school-age kids anymore. My kids are adults now, and with that comes a different kind of transition. One I thought I understood, but maybe wasn’t fully prepared for.
This month, one season is shifting as one of my adult children prepares to move into a home of their own. Another season is unfolding as I help plan a wedding. In business, I am also wrapping up an investment that brought me joy, but now requires a change in direction.
It has been a month of endings, beginnings, and learning once again that life keeps moving.
Some changes arrive with excitement. Others are harder to release, even when we know they are good, necessary, or part of growth.
Wrapping Up Seasons
Right now, my house looks like a tornado passed through it.
There are boxes, bags, packing supplies, and little piles everywhere. It is the kind of mess that tells a story — a story of movement, independence, and a new chapter beginning.
And I am feeling all of it.
The pride. The worry. The sadness. The excitement. The quiet “what ifs” that show up when the house is finally still.
As parents, we dream of our kids growing, learning, becoming more independent, and finding their way. But when those moments actually arrive, they can feel much more complicated than we expected.
Because even when our children become adults, our hearts do not stop being parents.
We keep loving. We keep praying. We keep hoping they remember what we taught them. We keep wanting the world to be kind to them.
My mom told me once that a parent’s love has no age limit. And the older I get, the more I understand what she meant.
Our children may grow taller than us. They may get married. They may move across the city, or the country. They may make choices that look different from the dreams we once carried for them.
And still, they remain our children.
That part can be tender.
So to the mom who needs to hear this today: it is okay to feel sad as your kids grow older.
It is okay to miss the little version of them while still loving the adult standing in front of you.
It is okay to grieve one season while celebrating the next.
It is okay to worry and still choose to trust.
Some parents will watch their children move toward more independence. Others will become lifelong caregivers. Many will walk a path that looks nothing like what they imagined when their child was young.
But in every version of the story, the love remains.
As parents, we do not graduate. We simply learn to show up differently — sometimes with more space, more boundaries, more trust, and always with love.
So I ask you gently this week:
What are you wrapping up?
What season are you saying goodbye to?
What are you making room for?
Whatever it is, I hope you give yourself permission to feel it.
Because letting go is still love.
And sometimes, love looks like standing at the edge of a new chapter and whispering, “I’m proud of you. I’m here. Now go fly.”

✈️TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, and CLEAR: Which One Makes Sense for Your Family?
If you have ever traveled with a neurodivergent child, you know the airport can be one of the most stressful parts of the trip.
The long lines. The waiting. The noise. The shoes, bags, laptops, liquids, people moving too fast, people moving too slow, and the pressure of getting through security while trying to keep everyone regulated.
That is why programs like TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, and CLEAR can be so helpful. They do not remove every travel challenge, but they can make airport days feel a little more predictable and manageable.
Here is the simplest way to think about it:
Program | Best For | What It Helps With |
|---|---|---|
TSA PreCheck | Mostly domestic travel | Faster airport security lines in the U.S. |
Global Entry | International travel | Faster customs when returning to the U.S. and it includes TSA PreCheck |
CLEAR Plus | Very frequent travelers | Uses biometrics to move faster through identity verification lines at select airports |
Simple rule of thumb:
Mostly domestic travel? Choose TSA PreCheck.
Travel internationally? Choose Global Entry — it includes TSA PreCheck.
Travel often and value every minute? Consider adding CLEAR.
One quick note: CLEAR does not replace TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. CLEAR helps with identity verification, while TSA PreCheck helps with the security screening process.
Before paying out of pocket, check your credit card benefits. Many travel cards reimburse TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, and some also offer credits for CLEAR.
For families like ours, this is not just about convenience. It is about reducing stress, protecting energy, and making travel day feel less overwhelming.

🎶When Music Unlocks What Words Cannot
Sometimes the unexpected comes our way.
This month, I stumbled across the “one in a million” Martin Finn.
Martin is a young man with severe autism. In everyday life, he can’t speak or hold a conversation. But when Irish folk duo Foster & Allen invited him to sing on their cover of “Flying Without Wings,” something magical happened.
Martin can read lyrics and sing them — beautifully.
His voice soared alongside the veteran performers, bringing an energy that perfectly balanced the nostalgic melody. When their voices harmonized together, it created one of those rare moments that reminds us why we never stop believing in our kids’ potential.
Someone who didn’t have a voice found it through the power of music.
If you need a reminder this week that our neurodivergent kids have gifts the world desperately needs to hear, watch this. It is a beautiful example of what becomes possible when we create space for different kinds of communication to shine.
Watch here:
Sometimes the most powerful voices are the ones that don’t use words at all.
On a side note: Years ago, Westlife released “Flying Without Wings,” written by Wayne Hector and Steve Mac. Today, I want to dedicate this song to someone I love who was born the same year this song came out… one who is leaving the nest soon.
It’s time to fly… with or without wings.
God will be with you.
I am proud of you, and I am so glad you found your “someone.”
Until Next Time 🤍
If this season feels emotional for you too, please know you are not alone.
Whether your child is little, grown, moving forward, staying close, needing lifelong support, or finding their own kind of wings, your feelings are valid.
We keep loving.
We keep learning.
We keep showing up.
And little by little, we learn to trust the next chapter.
